THEORY OF 2-PHOTON-RESONANT 3-PHOTON IONIZATION BY BROAD-BAND RADIATION APPLIED TO THE DETERMINATION OF ISOTOPIC ABUNDANCES

摘要：
We present a theoretical model for two-photon-resonant three-photon ionization by a broad-band laser. We carry out a specific calculation for Be-9 and Be-10 under the condition that the laser bandwidth is sufficiently broad to overlap all hyperfine levels of the state (2s4d) 1D2. Our calculation shows that the ionization rates for Be-9 and Be-10 could depend strongly on the laser intensity.
