摘要
Subarachnoid hemorrhage ( SAH) is a major intracranial lesions that can undergo an individual. Non-traumatic SAH is a serious health problem for the high rate of morbidity and mortality associated with it, and the need for care in specialized centers with neurosurgery and neuroradiology services. The aim is to study the efficacy of statins and magnesium sulfate in the prevention of clinical vasospasm in patients with nontraumatic SAH treated in the emergency area of the hospital Dr. "Luis Razetti" of the city of Barcelona, Venezuela, divided into two groups of patients a retrospective cohort from January 2005-July 2006, and another group prospective study between July 2006-June 2008. About 70% of non-traumatic SAH patients were women, most of the events occurred at ages of 49.4 years with SD +/- 9.44 years. The Fisher grade III has regarding the occurrence of clinical vasospasm. The use of the current therapeutic regimen reduces the risk of vasospasm in these patients at 6 times ( odds ratio p < 0.05). The lethality of the event was 100%. Cerebral vasospasm is the most important modifiable factor in reducing the rate of mortality in these patients. Based on these results we suggest that all patients considered Fisher grade III Hunt and Hess grade III above must initiate use of statins over magnesium sulfate, however, nimodipine remains a valid option because of its support for studies based.
