摘要
In this work, an alternative strategy is proposed in order to determine the surge impedance of transmission towers based on the computational analysis of magnetic fields. The Finite Element Method (MEF) is applied, using the Flux 3D software and the geometric model in three dimensions (3D) of a transmission tower is considered to obtain the parameters of electromagnetic nature. The proposed methodology is validated by comparing the computational results with experimental data derived from measurements performed on real transmission towers. In addition, an electric model of transmission towers is implemented in the EMTP/ATP software and simulations were performed to study the voltage impact at different points of the tower due a lightning strike. This methodology allows verifying the influence of the surge impedance on the voltage values at strategic points of transmission towers.
