The article presents an analysis of the evolutionary processes in psychiatry in Germany, which took place over the past 50 years. The changes in the understanding of mental illness, marked trend towards the integration of psychiatry, psychotherapy, and sociotherapy, movements from stigma to the estimated relative and Human Rights (the patient), reveals the essence of the bio- psycho- social model of the disease, the relationship between psychiatry and reform policy.
