ADSORPTION OF DIALKYLDERIVATIVES OF THE THIOUREA AT THE MERCURY SOLUTION INTERFACE

摘要
The adsorption of dimethylthiourea, diethylthiourea, diisopropylthiourea and dibutylthiourea at the mercury/1M NaClO4 interface was studied on by differential capacity, being described by Frumkin isotherm. The interaction parameters depend on the electrode charge. Surface excesses as well as Gibbs adsorption energy grow with the increase of the carbon number in the alkyl radical. Differences in adsorption properties are mainly caused by different hydrophobicity and polarizability of the thiourea derivatives.
