The Possibility of Civil Society in the Muslim Societies

This study questions the possibility of civil society within the Muslim societies. While focusing on the qualifications of civil society the reciprocity of these qualifications in the Muslim societies are evaluated in the paper. The article concludes with the civil society tradition in the Muslim societies on the basis of volunteerism, autonomy from the state though not in Western sense literally.
