STUDY OF PHASE-TRANSITIONS IN NEW FERROELASTIC CRYSTALS [NH2(C2H5)2]2ZNCL4 AND [NH2(C2H5)2]2COCL4

摘要
The birefringence of [NH2(C2H5)2]2ZnCl4 crystals and temperature behaviour of the spontaneous rotation angle of optic indicatrices in adjacent domains in [NH2(C2H5)2]2ZnCl4 and [NH2(C2H5)2]2CoCl4 crystals have been investigated. It has been found that they are intrinsic ferroelastics in the temperature range of 208-323 K and undergo second order phase transition at T = 323 K. Besides, two new phase transitions have been discovered in [NH2(C2H5)2]2ZnCl4 crystals at temperatures of 208 and 156 K.
