SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND DEVELOPMENT IN ECOWAS

The end result of technology should be its utilization for improving the productivity of nations. To this end, Africa needs ''modern indigenous (scientific) technology.'' Other critical input factors in industrial production include capital, labor, skills, management, and intermediate goods imports. Using these inputs rationally, the Economic Community of West African Nations (ECOWAS) may be able to make its economy more industrial and less agriculture-dependent.
