The information stands are used by man from the beginning of his creation as a pillar of his own existence, allowing the transition of ideologies to future generations and contributing to the evolution of humanity. A picture is a form of communication and recording a memory, that permeated through Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) enabled a registry forms of expansion, such as digital imaging. The growing imagery production and use of digital information, greatly in the context web, generates a need to find solutions for the parameters of Establishment propitiate a Description and access to imagery Resources. The aim of this study is to identify and to map the metadata standards for digital resources based on the Process of Images Resources (PIR), allowing the effective retrieval information on the web. It is characterized as an exploratory and descriptive methodology, in order to map them to patterns of digital image representation and its attributes relating them to intrinsic aspects of the Web. As a result, we have introduced the mapping and classifying of metadata standards that include, Dublin Core, MARC21, MODS, MIX, IPTC, Core VRA, XMP e PLUS, it points to a theoretical corpus to concepts and procedures for forms of representation and description of digital images on Web guided by in the scientific literature of Librarianship, Information Science and Computer Science area and a mapping of the metadata standards for digital images. Thus, so it emphasizes that the conventional and traditional forms of information science, especially with regard to the processing of information resources, it can provide an improved recovery performance of digital imagery information in information environments.
