摘要
In this study a novel finite element modelling of the plane frame-combined footing-soil system, subjected to biaxial loading has been discussed. The formulation of an isoparametric interface/joint element which is used to model the interface characteristics of the foundation beam and the soil medium has been presented. In addition, some useful suggestions have been given regarding the proper selection of the values of tangential and shear stiffnesses K(ss) and K(nn) respectively. Finally the interactive behaviour of a five storey two bay frame has been studied and is compared with the conventional non-interactive analysis. The material non-linearity of the soil has been taken into consideration by employing the hyperbolic stress-strain model.
