LIQUID-PHASE INTERACTION OF LITHIUM WITH POTASSIUM MERCURY GRAPHITE-INTERCALATION COMPOUNDS

摘要
The liquid phase interactions of lithium with potassium-mercury graphite intercalation compounds (GICs) of the first and second stages are considered in detail. The final product has two phases in both cases: the first compound is more thermodynamically preferable potassium GIC of the first stage and the second one is a GIC stable to the influence of the melt. Thus the last compound screens C8K from the intercrystalline alloy. The mechanisms of reactions are discussed from the point of view of the Daumas-Herold model.
