摘要
This paper deals with a short review on the state-of-the-art of the use of nanofibers as wound dressing materials. Nanofibers have potential for use in a wide range of applications due to their biodegradability, low cost and high efficiency. Given the complexity of burn therapy, there is an increasing need for investigating the therapeutic options of wound healing process. The use of nanofibrous materials for burn care is preferable due to their structural similarity whit that of native extracellular matrix. The preparation methods of nanofibers have been extensively studied and some techniques have been reported to produce materials for different applications. Special attention was focused on the preparation of micro- and nanofibrous materials with antibacterial and antifungal activity.
