摘要：
The biopsy of the prostate represents an important complement and frequently conclusive for the diagnosis of prostate carcinoma. Transrectal guidance results in improved performance and better tolerance by the patient. Being an invasive procedure some precautions must be kept in mind and preparation of the patient and cereful post-procedure observation is recommended. Complications occur in small percentaje of patients. Some technical aspects of the procedure and instrumentation are discussed.
