EXCITATION-FUNCTIONS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF CD-109,IN-109 AND SN-109 IN PROTON-BOMBARDMENT OF INDIUM UP TO 200 MEV

摘要
Effective cross-sections for the production of Cd-109 as well as its precursors in the bombardment of (nat)In with protons were measured from threshold to 200 MeV. A thick-target production-rate curve for Cd-109, based on its measured integral excitation function, was derived. The measured practical production rate at approximately 100 MeV, 10-mu-A was found to be in good agreement with it. The experimental results were well reproduced by theoretical model calculations, the results of which were consequently used to predict thick-target production rates for a 100% enriched In-113 target also. Both production routes offer substantially higher yields than the commonly-used ones employing Ag targets.
