摘要：
This essay addresses the research experience achieved during a traineeship at Julio de Castilhos Museum, Porto Alegre, RS, along 2013, whose aim was to study its collection of six of the XX century hand-fans. It presents the hand-fan as a history spreader, narrator and preserver, as well as an object attached to gender issues. It discusses the trajectory of donation of this hand-fan to the museum and of its owner, Isaura Dias de Bittencourt. It concludes that Isaura's biography, its hand-fans and its features: shapes, inscriptions, modes of use and its constituent processes allows to envision the history of which it is a part of.
