APPLYING OBJECT-ORIENTED CONCEPTS TO DEVELOPING FINANCIAL SYSTEMS

Although-object-oriented models are rapidly emerging as important tools for developing software systems, few object-oriented systems have been built. This is because the majority of IS professionals are still unfamiliar with object-oriented concepts, and are is a misconception that traditional programming tools are adequate for buying system and, therefore, object-oriented concepts can contribute very little in business areas. The primary goal of this article is to show that object-oriented concepts can be very valuable for building systems. The benefits of object-oriented concepts are demonstrated by employing an object-oriented model to develop one of the most basic business systems, financial accounting systems.
