摘要
Introduction: Juvenile nasal angiofibroma are highly vascularized tumors requiring surgical treatment. Objective: Results are described by the techniques used and Fisch states. Materials and Methods: A retrospective study carried out at the school of otolaryngology of the Hospital de Clinicas with 29 pediatric patients who were classified by Stage according to the structures and spaces invaded. Two surgical techniques were used, endoscopic and midfacial degloving. Results: The majority of patients were found to be in Fisch Stage 2. All the recurring cases were found to have undergone midfacial degloving and were in Fisch Stages 2 and 4. Immediate complications were found in 7 patients, one patient presented late complications, and one death occurred, equivalent to a mortality rate of 3.44% for the cases studied. Conclusion: In the pediatric patients studied in the school of otolaryngology, juvenile nasal angiofibroma is most common between 13 and 18 years of age. Most patients in our study presented with Fisch Stage 2. Recurring cases were more commonly in Stage 4, and none were in Stage 1. All recurring cases (100%) were treated by the midfacial degloving method.
