摘要
The aim this article is the presentation of the Department of Industrial Property (patents) and Innovation in Biotechnology UFRJ created by the Agency for Innovation and offered for some courses Graduate of Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. The course will familiarize students in the fields related to biotechnology with the intellectual property system. The knowledge by the existing legal mechanisms for the protection of intellectual creations in the field of biotechnology, as well as the steps that must be taken by the inventor along the UFRJ to achieve effective protection of the invention. Also enable the student to seek and use information contained in patent documents as a subsidy to their research work. Structuring of innovative projects with the purpose of introducing the effective results in society (technology transfer) and encourages students to entrepreneurial activity. With increasing knowledge of the academic community on the subject, quickly introduced a culture of patenting UFRJ and increases the number of technologies with real chances of producing innovation.
