摘要
Friction welding is a complicated process, which involves the interaction of thermal, mechanical and metallurgical phenomena. A finite element model to simulate this coupled process is developed to represent the workpieces and surface contact conditions. Predictions of the temperature distribution, thermal expansion and thermo-plastic stresses are obtained from this model. Comparison of the analytic results to test data are presented and discussed. © 1990.
