ESTIMATING SUGAR YIELD FROM THE SUBSTANCES IN BEETS

摘要：
Based on selected substances contained in beets - sucrose, potassium, sodium, alpha-amino nitrogen, and reducing substances - new formulas to calculate important technological parameters (sugar yield, molasses sugar, and the purity of thin juice and molasses) were devised in the Ukraine. Tests under operating conditions of the equations obtained showed good agreement between the calculated data and factory results. Comparison with the results obtained applying formulas from various authors leads to recommentations for the Ukrainian sugar industry.
