摘要
A subclass of knowledge intensive problems is identified wherein the problems are transient in nature but still benefit from the application of expertise. The authors denote these problems as Episodic Classification Problems and detail the evolution of a blackboard-based approach, first as an architecture and then as a prototype application, used to solve this class of problems. They note that, while some system changes are required to accommodate the nature of the application being addressed, similarities over these problems lend themselves to a generalized solution.
