摘要
Assuming adiabatic heating conditions, the destabilizing effect of deformation-induced heating on dynamic localization is analysed in a one-dimensional context, via parametric studies for rate- and temperature-dependent solids under tensile impact. As an extension of the title problem, the counteracting effects of self-induced heating and inertia are further investigated in the presence of low-amplitude, high-frequency excitations superimposed on a nominal impact velocity. Finally, parametric studies are performed to investigate the contribution of inertia during the early stages of strain-rate jump tests, which are commonly used to determine the effects of dislocation changes on the stress-strain behaviour of some metals.
