摘要
We report a high degree of biaxial (and hence, triaxial) alignment of RE- 1 -2-3 superconductor ceramic grains achieved by a recently developed method that combines the effects of a magnetic field and a mechanical force (acting normal to each other); here RE = Eu0.92Yb0.08. XRD and analysis of the twin boundary distribution relative to the field direction are used to analyze the alignment fraction in the surface layer, relative to the random distribution, there is an increase of almost-equal-to 400% in the number of grains having [100] or [010] axes parallel-aligned to within +/- 5-degrees from the field direction.
