摘要
The article focuses on falling as an everyday problem and presents six typologies of falls in old age through a metaphorically inspired discourse analysis. Through semi-structured interviews we explore 25 older persons' relation to falling and falls prevention. The results suggest that falls prevention can be understood as a relation where older persons construct themselves and are constructed as: athletics, actors, rationalists, rebels, patients and angles. The results open up to a deeper understanding of falls prevention in old age. The study contributes to a deeper theoretical understanding of the concept of falls prevention and elucidates new conditions for falls prevention in the health care system. The study can be used as inspiration to nurses working with falls prevention in new ways across sectors.
