摘要：
The technical literature doesn't give a unique method for choosing the module and the diameter factor in case of cylindrical worm gears. This paper gives a method of choosing the worm diameter factor with the help of a Matlab application, while the module is computed automatically in order to keep all necessary fulfillments related to the strength and the rigidity. Results are given so that the designer can select the diameter factor that gives the best efficiency of the worm gear.
