The following article contains a reflection upon gender inequalities and inequities that come to constitute imposed rules and conducts, conditioning social behavior from an ethical point of view in different times, and thus setting models of feminity and masculinity. From an ethical perspective several sociological gender theories have been analized, revealing conservative standpoints as well as those defending the struggle against discrimination and gender inequalities. The rights conquered by women and the values they express which are upheld nowadays, such as autonomy, equality and liberty, coexist with more traditional values that limit the role of women. These reflections turn out to be helpful tools to foster ethical relationships of equity and respect.
