摘要
The composition of Pt - Fe alloy in equilibrium with chromite and basaltic mett has been determined in experiments under controlled oxygen fugacities at temperatures of 1200-1400-degrees-C. The composition of the alloy found in the experiments is on average 0.02 higher in Fe/(Fe+Pt) than the alloy composition calculated from the composition of chromite and the f(o2) of the experiments using published thermodynamic data and solid solution models of alloy and chromite. The composition of Pt Fe alloy in equilibrium with the composition of chromite found associated with alloy in layered intrusions was calculated assuming a temperature of 1200-degrees-C and a log f(o2) of -8.41 (FMQ). The calculated composition of alloy under these conditions was found to be Fe/(Fe+Pt) = 0.20-0.25.
