QUANTUM SCATTERING IN CHAOTIC AND NONCHAOTIC JUNCTIONS

摘要：
We have performed quantum mechanical calculations of the conductance of cross-shaped ballistic junctions in the few-mode limit, for crosses where classical scattering in the junction is either chaotic or non-chaotic. In this limit, fluctuations in the conductance have a correlation length which is set by the average classical trajectories. For a similar correlation length however, the conductance of the non-chaotic shape appears to show typically sharper structure. © 1992.
