摘要
Failure rates and MTBFs for false trips and dangerous failures should be carefully analyzed when evaluating fault tolerant controllers for safety applications. A life cycle cost comparison for the controllers should also be made, since false trips and dangerous failures are a major economic factor. Methods for both activities are presented.
