摘要
Tourism is an industry with enormous economic impacts. It is also an industry which has many environmental and social consequences. A thorough understanding of each component of the tourism phenomenon is essential so that those involved with planning, management, and policy determination have the basis for decision making. This paper is intended to delineate the link between the carrying capacity and tourism lifecycle concepts. The paper then suggests management implications consistent with the synergistic relationship that exists between the two concepts in tourism. © 1990 Academic Press Limited.
