摘要：
This mail survey of 82 Alabama legislators (59% return) finds that officials’ view of the press as adversary or agent of consensus was related to perceived value of media for job-relevant information. Legislators believing the consensus model found the press more useful than did legislators seeing the press as an adversary, suggesting a possible dysfunction of the “watch-dog” role. © 1990, Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communication.
