DOPPLER-FREE DETECTION OF THE 5S(1/2)-5D(5/2) 2-PHOTON TRANSITIONS IN RB-87 USING A NARROW-BAND ALGAAS LASER

摘要：
Sub-Doppler two-photon spectroscopy of well-known frequency rubidium transitions [7] has been demonstrated using 1.6 mW from a semiconductor diode laser at 778 nm. Observed signal-to-noise ratio and linewidths are sufficient to frequency lock the laser. Preliminary measurements show the feasibility of new simple frequency standards in the visible accurate to a few parts in 10(11).
