摘要：
This paper addresses Chilean testimonies of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Such an approach is done from the perspective of the analysis of the discourse and of the baroque imagery that regulates the relationships between matter, objects, and the "hereafter" in the Captaincy General of Chile; that is, on the frontier of colonial culture.
