CALCULATION OF THE X-RAY-DIFFRACTION ON THE STRUCTURE OF HIGH-ORIENTED POLYETHYLENE

Intensity of scattering on the system of crystallites and amorphous region between them simulating the structure of high-oriented polyethylene has been calculated. An increase of the longitudinal size of a crystallite and the integral intensity of the 002 reflex observed for the orientational stretching of PE is related with the formation of long linear systems consisting of several crystallites and straightened communicating chains between them. The existence of the X-ray scattering on the meridian of the first layer line is explained.
