摘要：
Free radical damage induced during alcohol metabolism, disturbances to the immune system and to neurotransmission are reviewed. Neurochemical studies of opioids and stimulants are also outlined. Further areas of consideration are toxicity from 'ecstasy' and anabolic steroids and the effects of prenatal exposure to cocaine and caffeine.
