Assisted reproduction in HIV serodiscordant couples. Our experience

In this study we reported our experience about the responsibilitybased parenthood investigating 129 serodiscordant couples in which the male partner was affected by HIV. The couples were enrolled in our MAP first level program from January 2000 till January 2010. Because HIV infection is a sexually transmitted disease and considering that the fetus could be exposed to the virus, the assisted procreation techniques represent an effective methodology in order to prevent infection on several aspects, such as between partners and also between mother and fetus.
