摘要
Analysis of lake sediment cores from nine water bodies in southern Alberta found relatively greater quantities of organic matter and an increased abundance of silt in post- relative to pre-European settlement sediments. These greater abundances are attributed to increased lake nutrient levels and increased wind erosion due to the development of agriculture in the region.
