AMINO-ACID-COMPOSITION OF MARINE GREEN-ALGA CAULERPA-SCALPELLIFORMIS (CHLOROPHYTA)

摘要
Free and combined amino acids were estimated in Caulerpa scalpeliformis (R.Br.) W.V.B. collected from Okha port of Saurashtra coast along the north-west coast of India. About 22-25 amino acids were,detected in free form of which 21 were quantitatively estimated in combined form. Rare compounds like gamma-aminobutyric acid, ornithine and cysteic acid were detected or estimated. Tryptophan and above mentioned amino acids are rarely reported for Indian marine algae.
