摘要
This study aims to investigate the crashworthiness properties of thin-walled foam-filled Auxetic metal/composite cellular tubes under quasi-static and low-velocity impact axial loading. The specimens were fabricated using thin-walled steel tubes and Glass Fiber Reinforced Composite (GFRC) laminates. The crashworthiness characteristics including peak load, absorbed energy, specific absorbed energy, and failure mechanisms of the hybrid structures were studied and compared with individual hollow section and foam-filled Auxetic tubes. In addition, detailed FE simulations were performed using LS-DYNA software, which was verified by the experiments.
