The essential differences in the architecture of primary polytene chromosomes in ovarian nurse cells between D. orena, D. erecta, D. teissieri, D. yakuba were revealed. D. orena has the combination of chromosome arms in local chromocentre with the large heterochromatic block. D. erecta has the combination of the centromeric parts of chromosomes X, 2, 3 into <<elongated>> chromocentre, and besides, the arms of chromosomes 2, 3 are also separated and attached to nuclear envelope. The individual chromosomes of D. teissieri (as their arms) are separated considerably from each other in the nuclear space and are attached to nuclear envelope by centromeric parts. Unlike the rest of the chromosomes, D. yakuba has chromosomes 2 and 3 with firm combinated arms and the large heterochromatic block in centromere without having attachment to nuclear envelope.
