摘要
The fatigue strengths of an annealed medium carbon steel during sliding friction with small normal loads in air and in oil were investigated and were compared with those in conventional fatigue tests. As the sliding friction in air produced wear of the fatigue specimens, the fatigue strength decreased. In oil, the fatigue specimens were hardly worn, but some rough scratches were produced at the surfaces during the initial sliding and the scratches decreased the fatigue strength.
