INFLUENCE OF GRAVITY-WAVES IN THE OCEAN ON ATMOSPHERIC SURFACE-WAVE EXCITATION BY AN UNDERWATER SOURCE

Dispersion properties of Stonely-Sholte-Lamb and Rayleigh surface waves propagating in the system ''isothermal atmosphere-oceanic waveguide'' simulated by a layer of a ''heavy'' compressible liquid located on a homogeneous elastic half-space are investigated. Frequency dependencies of their excitation coefficients are established for disturbance of pressure and particle velocity in the atmosphere in the case of an underwater mass source. It is demonstrated that the consideration of a gravity surface wave in the ocean in the case of certain depth and sound velocity in air leads to the intersection of the frequency dependence of its phase velocity with the analogous dependence for the Stonely-Sholte-Lamb atmospheric surface wave at two resonance frequencies, to which correspond narrow resonance maxima in the excitation coefficients of these waves.
