TREATMENT OF ACUTE HEPATIC INSUFFICIENCY IN OBSTRUCTIVE-JAUNDICE

On the basis of experience in the treatment of 1,276 patients who were operated on for various forms of obstructive jaundice and acute hepatic insufficiency, the author recommends including in the therapeutic complex, besides the commonly accepted therapy, hemo- and lymphosorption, combined anesthesia including electroanalgesia, and controlled dosed decrease of pressure in the biliary system during and after the operation. With the use of this complex of treatment in obstructive jaundice complicated by acute hepatic insufficiency, lethality fell from 13.1% to 5.9%.
