SIMULTANEOUS DETERMINATION OF IRON, COBALT AND NICKEL WITH 2,2'-DIPYRIDYLKETONE PICOLINOYLHYDRAZONE

Reactions of Ni(II), Co(II) and Fe(II) with 2,2-dipyridylketone picolinoylhydrazone, in acetate medium, have been used for simultaneous determinations of these metals. Metal complexes have molar absorptivities, at maximum wavelengths, in the range (1.8-3.2) x 10(4) l.mol(-1)cm(-1). A concentration range from 0.1 to 2.0 ppm of analyte has been performed. Interferences of many foreign ions have been also established. An algorithm based on dual transformation of ordinary least square regression has been used to calculate the concentrations of metal ions.
