The career of Psychology, university and democracy in Argentina: Notes for a recent history

The restoration of the democratic regime in Argentina in 1983 reconfigured institutions' functioning, and consequently universities'. At the same time, psychology careers went through many changes. This paper aims at analyzing what happened in Argentinian psychology classrooms from then on, trying to distinguish conflicts and achievements for this discipline. For this, this article firstly focuses in considering some precedents of higher education in psychology in Argentina. Second, aspects related to university training in psychology that were modified because of the institutional changes from the political system in 1983 in Argentina are analyzed. This research was possible by means of a socio-historical analysis of the bibliographic resources available. As a result, this work pretends to contribute to the development of a recent history of the discipline.
