摘要
Fault tolerance is a non-functional property of manufacturing systems that should be included in the design of these systems, rather than adding it during the implementation phase. In this paper we present the principles and terminology for fault tolerance in such manufacturing systems. We describe a model for the achievement of fault tolerance in the design. We show how the principle for fault tolerance can be applied by means of the example of a model factory which has been used for advanced development for the last 4 years.
