摘要
Recent developments in crystallographic phasing and refinement are discussed with particular emphasis on ab initio phasing, molecular replacement, the efficiency of crystallographic refinement, thermal motion, disorder of macromolecules, and bulk solvent. The past year has seen a number of developments in these areas which were made possible by the availability of increased computing power and the application of novel mathematical techniques.
