CURRENT TRENDS AND MAIN DIRECTIONS OF ORGANIZED CRIME COUNTERACTION

The article reveals the results of a research conducted by means of surveys of police officers who carry out activities on different types of crime coounteraction in Irkutsk region. Considering that organized crime counteraction is conducted by different structures within the system of internal affairs and investigative committee, the author tried to define opinions of examining officials who investigate crimes committed by a criminal group and association. 120 officers of East-Siberian region Prosecutor's office took part in the survey. Most of the surveyed were males aged 26 to 40 with long record of service (a bit more than 10 years). The total numer of the surveyed is 26 people that is 60 % of total number of workers Irkutsk region investigation department of the Internal Affairs Directorate The survey demonstrates current trends in organized crime, its types and fields of operation. Most of the surveyed assume that today it is impossible to counteract organized crime even considering maximum utilization of legal measures. The experts suggest main measures that would let achieve a more effective crimes' investigation committed by criminal groups and associations.
