摘要
A model is presented for predicting the anisotropic effective elastic moduli of a microcrack damaged material. The generalized self-consistent method is employed and the solution for a crack in an elliptical inclusion is used to estimate the energy dissipation due to crack opening. The analysis allows for an arbitrary degree of crack alignment and predicts the planar, anisotropic moduli in plane stress or strain situations. Results are shown for various crack densities and alignments.
