摘要
This article dealing with the use of new technologies is a result from a research project belonging to the Basic Education Licentiate Degree with emphasis in Humanities and Spanish offered at the distance modality at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. This text aims to identify, from a qualitative and ethnographic approach, and according to the methodology of discourse analysis, the interpretative sets stated by participants about the use of new Information and Communication Technologies - ICT, and its limitations. After applying the pertinent analyses within the "digital gap" context, the article proposes that distance learning should encourage and implement the ICT in a complementary fashion. Thus, the democratizing perspective of knowledge, which is a fundamental feature of distance modality, would be preserved.
